![]() ![]() ![]() In 1955, administration of the library was taken over by the state government, and later its status was raised of that of a state central library. ![]() It was declared open on Februin the presence of Sir Henry Wheeler, the then governor of Bihar and Orissa. The library is formally known as Shrimati Radhika Sinha Institute and Sachchidanand Sinha Library, which was set up in the memory of Sinha's late wife, Shrimati Radhika Devi. But they are now decaying due to official neglect and apathy, even though the library's present board of trustees include patrons like the governor of Bihar and ex-officio members like the chief justice of Patna high court, chief minister, minister of education and Patna University VC. PATNA: Sinha library, a living memory of late Sachchidanand Sinha, the first president of the Constituent Assembly that drafted the Indian Constitution, has a treasure of rarest of rare books. ![]()
